Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
I had a great time in Toronto! I did 4 shows at Indieweek and played for some great crowds! My favorite show was at Free times café – a wonderful little venue. Thanks to all who came to see my shows and to Indiweek for inviting me!

I have a habit of releasing a free Christmas single every year, and I am this year too!
The single will be released December 1st and will be a collaboration with The Bodyshop and ECPAT‘s campaign “Stop Trafficking”.
Along with the release I’m doing a Christmas concert at Clarion Sign in Stockholm, Sweden, December 1st! I’m playing my own Christmas songs and some selected favorites by other artists. As usual I’ll have a secret guest artist on the show and the Swedish Lucias will sing some lovely Christmas tunes as well!

2 months after Apple released Ping, their social network on iTunes they’ve only selected 2000 artists throughout the world. Ping music social network lets you follow your favorite artists and friends to discover the music they’re talking about, listening to, and downloading. Unfortunately many independent artists are still left out of the conversation – BUT NOT ME!

We begun the recordings of a new EP suite yesterday. Christian Hörgren who plays the cello in my band will produce the first one. Here’s some pictures from the studio.
