After a wonderful winter tour in Germany, I’m thrilled to be coming back to the USA for 37 shows across 9 states! I’ll be traveling from the deserts of Arizona and the bright lights of Nevada, along the sunny coast of California, through the forests of Oregon and Washington, across the wide skies of Idaho and Utah, and into the mountains and heart of Colorado and New Mexico.

I can’t wait to share intimate evenings of guitar, songs, and stories with you — from libraries and art centers to cozy house concerts, each stop is a chance to connect and celebrate music together.

Praise for “Wrapped in Paper”

Wow! I am so stoked that my new Christmas album Wrapped in Paper has gotten so much attention. Great reviews, a whole lot of airplay and listed on some of the most prestigious top lists there are.

“She sings with an angelic voice, and the music fits her style perfectly. It is almost unearthly at times, and the songs are almost so beautiful they border on painful.”
– Spill Magazine (4/5)

“Seemingly a response to the attention economy of social media and the sensationalism of the news cycle, Talvik calls for peace – the true meaning of this season, regardless of faiths or traditions – while wars, conflicts, and political frays are fought all around us.” – The Bluegrass Situation – Seasonal Musical Favorites

““Wrapped in Paper” collects her efforts since 2018, as she sings about snow, solitude, love and the passage of time.” The New York Times

“With a strong flavour of traditional folk and a beautiful voice that sits between frosty sweetness and the strength of protest, this song is a powerful letter to Santa.” – Listen with Monger

Also featured on a bunch of blogs and radio shows, from the BBC to NPR I can’t express the holiday cheer I feel that y’all took the time to listen to my songs! As I don’t want to hoard Christmas for myself, I’ll end this post with a link to a great Christmas playlist by Saving Country Music. Listen here! and Happy Holidays to you all!

Wrapped in Paper – out now!

Today my new Christmas album Wrapped in Paper is out, and with it comes the end of a twenty-year tradition.

It started as a fun way to do something different from my usual songs. Then it became a yearly tradition. Now, after two decades I decided to gather up all the songs from the last 7 years, write 2 new ones and re-imagine Silent Night, and wrap them all in paper for you as one last Christmas bang! I’m not saying I’ll never write another Christmas song, but the yearly tradition is coming to an end with this album. The last song on Wrapped in Paper – Merry Christmas, Adios, So Long – is my goodbye and my explanation to this.

For my final Christmas single, I planned to finally write something cheerful—a proper jingle bells moment. But if you know me, you know that’s not what happened.

Instead, what emerged was “Let Peace be the Song”—a protest Christmas song. The world shapes what we create, whether we intend it to or not. This song is a plea for peace, but also about the weariness of watching injustice unfold. I kept it stripped bare—just guitar and voice—because folk music has always been the home for feelings like these.

I know this might not be what everyone wants from a Christmas song. Sometimes we need beauty and comfort. Which is why the rest of Wrapped in Paper offers that too—including a new open-tuning arrangement of “Silent Night” with soaring violins, and other songs meant to be savored.

I hope you’ll find something in it that speaks to you.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

Q: What is ElasticStage, and why can’t I get these albums signed?
ElasticStage is an on-demand platform that makes it simple to order vinyl records and CDs from independent artists. Each copy is produced only when you place an order, so there’s no waiting or risk of sold-out stock. They take care of production, shipping, and worldwide delivery, allowing you to receive high-quality albums directly from the artists.

Thanks to elasticStage, I can offer vinyl editions of some of my albums that wouldn’t justify pressing hundreds of copies. Each album is made just for you and shipped by elasticStage, which means I don’t handle shipping and won’t be able to sign your copy before it arrives. But if you bring your vinyl to one of my shows, I’d be more than happy to sign it for you!

I know they’re a little pricey, but the albums are high quality vinyl and comes with all the lyrics printed on the inner sleeve.

The albums are also available as CD pre-orders on http://music.sofiatalvik.com and https://hansan.bandcamp.com/album/vargar.

Thank you for supporting this journey — I can’t wait for you to hold these albums in your hands as much as I’ve loved making them.
