As some of you know, every year I release a free Christmas single, portraying the darker, less cheerful side of the holiday season. My 2017 Christmas album ”When Winter Comes” charted as No. 5 on Folk Radio USA, and this year I also released my 9th studio album, ”Center of the Universe”, which was considered for a Grammy nomination.

”Alone for Christmas” is a heartbreaking tale about how missing your loved one at a time of the year that is so strongly centered around family is extra hard. Jazzy guitars, shimmering cellos and some warm and clear vocals in this waltz will tug on your heartstrings.

Of course there are so many deserving artists being considered for the Grammy Nomination for best Folk Album, but here is why you should know about – and support Swedish artist Sofia Talvik.

* Standing up for women’s rights! – Sofia’s single Too Many Churches charted as #3 on Folk Radio Charts USA when it was released. This powerful song is about the overturning of Roe v Wade and how it effects all women, both in the USA and in Europe.

* Taking a stance against war and discrimination! – Sofia’s single Circle of Destruction charted as #9 on Folk Radio Charts USA and is a real protest song, like plucked from Laurel Canyon 1970.

Highlighting the missing children of America! – The title track “Center of the Universe” tells the tale of all the missing children and young adults in America. In her video she is using the pictures of the recently missing in an effort to further spread them for a chance of their recovery.

After numerous tours through 48 of the U.S states, she has a unique perspective of an outsider getting included and immersed in what is America today. The new album was just released less than 2 months ago. If you are a voting member, please consider supporting Sofia in getting the nomination for best folk album. The response so far to my new album Center of the Universe has been phenomenal! It went straight in on #14 on USA Folk Radio Charts for August with the single in top 10!

I’ve also gotten a bunch of great reviews, both in Europe but also in the USA.

I’m happy to announce that a vinyl will be available in November!

First of all a huge thank you to all of you who pre-ordered the album and the deluxe package with the Mini Documentary. We are working like crazy to get it ready and out for you. Until then, I hope you enjoy the album. All the albums that were ordered to U.S addresses has been shipped and should reach you soon if they haven’t already. All albums to European addresses will be sent early November when I am back in Europe after my tour. Why you might ask? Well it costs $20 to send one CD to Europe from the USA, and all sorts of customs declarations must be filled out to send it. Even if I could do all of that there is still a big risk that the album will go missing on the way, or get stuck in customs with extra charges for you to release it. So, that is why you’ll get it later, but as we say in Sweden – The one who waits for something good never waits too long.
