Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
Yesterday (June 14th) I did an appearance and played live at Dropping Knowledge on WMBR 88.1 FM , Cambridge’s (MA) #1 music radio show! I played four songs live in the studio and talked with Joe G about the tour and the new album. If you missed out you can listen here! It’s been a while but finally I got around to finish episode 4 of Drivin’ & Dreaming! In this episode which is set in Virginia and Maryland Jonas shows hos skills as the grill master, we play a weird gig in Alexandria with people from “out of town” and we learn the motto of New Hampshire!

Swedish music mag Lira recently published an interview about my tour and wrote a really nice review for my new album The Owls Are Not What They Seem or as I like to call it “TOANWTS”. As the magazine isn’t available outside Sweden, I’m sharing a translated extract of the review with you here:

Swedish American newspaper Nordstjernan just published an interview about my tour. Nordstjernan was founded in 1872 and is the oldest Scandinavian publication in the US. They visited me for my shows in NYC, of which the last one is today Thursday June 7th at Ella Lounge 7pm.
