Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
So I got an email from Georgia who told me that she and her fellow students at the Birmingham Institute of Art and design had made a video for my song “Delusional” from the EP “V – Part Three of L.O.V.E“. Of course I had to share it and here it is!

In 2006 my Christmas single tradition started thanks to a collaboration with Swedish electronica artist Sophie Rimheden. Sophie was one of the artists who contributed to my album Street of Dreamix, a remixed version of my second album Street of Dreamsthat was released that same year.
Sophie and I decided to write a Christmas single together, doing something different from what we usually do. So we wrote and recorded “Xmas on the Dance Floor” a pop/disco/electronica song about dancing you ass off at Christmas, under the name “Sofia & Sophie”.
Sophie has since released a bunch of albums, most recently an album “HAJ” and a book called “Elektronika Drottning?” (the album is included in the book). Sophie also has her own Christmas Calendar called Sound Calendar that you can check out here!

In about a week I’ll be doing two shows in Utah. I’m playing at Piper Down an Olde World Pub in Salt lake City on the 4th and in Logan at WhySound on the 7th. I would like to welcome you to my annual Christmas concert “Sofia Talvik’s Julmys” at Clarion Sign in Stockholm, Sweden, December 1st!
We’re going to treat you to a super cosy evening, starting with Christmas songs from the Swedish Lucia candidates to set the mood and then some lovely Christmassy songs from me and my band. I’m also very happy to announce that renowned jazz singer Anna Christoffersson will be joining me for a couple of songs. The evening starts at 6pm (kl 18) and me and my band will be on stage at 8pm (kl 20).
There is no cover charge so bring all your friends!
The evening will also be a little release party for my new Christmas single “Santa” which will be released the same day. This year I’m releasing it in collaboration with The Body Shop’s and ECPAT’s campaign “Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People“.

I have a habit of releasing a free Christmas single every year, and I am this year too!
The single will be released December 1st and will be a collaboration with The Bodyshop and ECPAT‘s campaign “Stop Trafficking”.
Along with the release I’m doing a Christmas concert at Clarion Sign in Stockholm, Sweden, December 1st! I’m playing my own Christmas songs and some selected favorites by other artists. As usual I’ll have a secret guest artist on the show and the Swedish Lucias will sing some lovely Christmas tunes as well!
