On the Road

We’ve been stuck in San Diego for a few days. Not that I’m complaining, we’ve been mostly sitting in the hot tub with a beer, but we’re all longing to do more concerts. We played at Acoustic Music San Diego which kind of left us with mixed feelings as the greeting from the manager there was less than pleasant. But we’re all looking forward to our gigs in Austin. As we’re actually staying for 2 extra days after SXSW is over we were talking about maybe getting us another gig, like a SXSW after party kind of thing. That would be fun!

Tomorrow we’re hitting the road again and to make the days pass and spend less time in the car we’re cutting the trip into a 3 days drive instead of 2 days of loooong hours in the car. We’ve mapped our route on roadsideamerica.com and have a few funny things to see on the way to Austin. I’m looking forward to Shakespear’s Ghost Town, and the guys want to see the Bush Gallery of the Pacific War.

I’m not in Texas yet but I did manage to buy myself a pair of seriously cool cowboy boots today! They’re blue so I’m feeling like sining “blue suede shoes” only I have to change it to “blue suede boots” haha.

For all of you that want some free music as a special treat for SXSW, text SXSW2010 to 41411 (US only).

See you at SXSW!

West coast!

We had a couple of lovely days in Seattle, and now we’re working our way down the west coast. Last night we did a great gig at The Mint in LA. My friend Anna Christoffersson showed up as she’s in LA working on her new album. Me and Anna baked Saffron bread in my Christmas Calendar, if you haven’t seen it check it out here!

We spent the day with Anna in Santa Monica the day after, it was lovely to walk around for a bit before cramming all the gear in the truck again and heading to San Diego.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, I’m playing in San Diego so don’t miss my gig there!

Here’s some pics from the tour

Nordic times in Seattle

We’ve played at the Hartley Historic Mansion in Everett, WA and the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle. These kinds of gigs are always quite different as there’s such a mixed crowd. You have the people who know your music there and the people who come because they have a Nordic heritage and want to listen to a Swedish singer. Fortunately no one asked me to play ABBA as one guy that came up to me in the middle of my set on Hawaii. We sold out on all our albums so that was very nice and the audience was so great, really attentive and respectful. It’s such a nice change from bar gigs where there’s always people who talk and don’t care about the music.

Karen Pauley from the radio show Nordic Roots and Branches did an excellent job with the gigs. She was the one who first invited me here last year so I’m happy we could include it in our tour this time! Check ou her radio show here!

A big thank you to all that came to the shows! We had such a great time! Stay tuned for som video clips.
