SVT Midsommar – Televised midsummer concert

I’m very excited to announce that I will be one of 4 Swedish artists to celebrate Midsummer in a big televised concert for everyone in Sweden, and anyone abroad who wants to join. SVT has a tradition to air a magical midsummer concert every year, and this year they asked me to do the honor of playing. It will be a mix of new and traditional tunes and I am humbled to share the stage with Stiko Per Larsson, Bouchra Iramdane, Henning och Sunniva Brynnel, set in the lush surroundings of the Swedish castle of Nääs on the west coast of Sweden.

Last year House of Sweden (The Swedish Embassy in DC) along with numerous Swedish consulates in the US, hosted me for a special online midsummer concert. Just like then, you will be able to watch the SVT Midsommar concert from anywhere in the world on this link:

The concert will be aired on June 25th 8pm Swedish time, and will stay online on the SVT play website until December.

Online Concert – Special Midsummer Edition!

SATURDAY – 26 JUNE

Real live shows are coming up, but travel is still not on the table for everyone. So that is why I will be airing a special online midsummer concert for everyone who still feel more comfortable listening to music at home. I will be treating you to a mix of my own originals and some summery Swedish folk songs, in the picturesque setting of Sweden’s west coast. With me for this concert I have Sweden’s best guitar player, Marcus Högquist. You have probably already heard him on all my albums 🙂

Tune in on midsummer’s day, June 26th at 9pm European time, 3pm EST. We are as always grateful for your donations for the music. We always go the extra mile to deliver flawless sound and a nice setting for the concerts.

Please make a donation before or during the concert.

On the road again! Concerts in Germany!

Sofia Talvik - Press Photo

It feels almost unreal to be able to announce real live concert dates. Do I remember how to play the guitar? Can I still sing? I guess we’ll see, because I have a bunch of summer dates coming up in Germany and guess what – they are in front of a live audience!!

Luckily I have received my Covid vaccine so I can feel confident I will survive meeting people in real life again. Though we will of course keep practicing face mask and hand sanitizer just in case you have any other strange germs 😉

If you happen to find yourself in Germany in June and July you can come and see a concert here:

Sofia Talvik at South Florida Folk Festival

So you thought I had disappeared under the radar? Well yes, a little bit. After the big Christmas show I have escaped to Spain to wait out the pandemic and get a dose of sun instead of the snow in Northern Europe. I have also been working on my other project Hansan, and a few new songs for us.

But it’s time to come out of hiding, and what better way than with a Festival. I was humbled to be asked to play the South Florida Folk Festival, organized by Broward Folk Club. The line up is absolutely stellar with performers from Canada, USA and – moi from Europe.

It is a free show but the Festival accepts donations if you feel so inclined.

Since its inception in 1990, the Festival has been a combination of a music fest, family reunion, community gathering, and weekend musical retreat.  This year, for the first time, the BFC is presenting the annual festival virtually, as we invite music lovers of all ages to watch on YouTube or Facebook from the safety of their home or social bubble. The 2021 festival lineup features music for everyone, blending the best singer-songwriters and performers from North America and Europe, along with home-town Florida favorites, for a weekend of folk and acoustic music.

The event is currently on Facebook… where there will be further information posted in the near future… including links to attend the Festival and information on how to donate.  Make sure to like the Broward Folk Club on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/BrowardFolkClub/

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet lists my online shows on their best of the year list

U.S correspondent, music and sports writer Per Bjurman of Swedish Newspaper Aftonbladet has released his best of the year list. The list that covers everything from Albums to TV-shows lists artists such as Taylor Swift and Lori McKenna. Under the category “other” Bjurman is listing my online Quarantine Concerts, as the only online concert series of the list.

Since March I have been streaming live as over 100 booked concerts have been canceled this year. I have streamed for Ines Festival, venues, and the Swedish Embassy in the U.S, and my latest Christmas Concert was co-hosted by over 20 venues and house concert hosts in the U.S and Europe. A big shout-out to all of you who have been tuning in and donating this year. Check out the latest stream here:
