Last week of the Yo-Yo tour

It’s been a great tour, especially now that the weather has warmed up a little bit. I got to put Vermont on my list of states (now up to 46!) and met so many wonderful people along the way. Thank you so much to everyone who has come out to see me, and all of you promoters that have booked me or invited me to your homes!

I’m down to the last week of shows and will spend it up in the mountains. Hope to see you at one of my last shows, more info about addresses and such can be found here, or on my Facebook site.

My 2016 highlights

2016 was a strange year for many. So I am going to focus on the fun things that happened to me in 2016.

I did 2 great tours in the USA, where I met some wonderful people who are now part of my tribe of musicians, and a bunch of fun gigs around Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands. I opened for David Duchovny in Munich (but didn’t see any aliens).

My album “Big Sky Country” continued to get attention and was listed in the top 5 best Americana albums both in U.K newspaper The Telegraph and music blog Music Riot.

“Big Sky Country” charted as no 15 on U.S Folk radio charts in the beginning of the year and was followed by my new Christmas single “When it rains on Christmas Day” as no 13 in December. It also got a bunch of airplay in the U.K on BBC radio and other stations.

I met a bunch of kind people that helped me in different ways. Read the list here!

Finally I ended the year with 5 sold out shows around Germany, accompanied by a great backing band. Thank you to everyone who came out to see me in 2016 and who supported me and other indie artists by buying CDs. I hope 2017 has many fun and exciting things in store for me!

Happy New Year!

The yearly Christmas single is released! Get it here now!

Every year I release a brand new Christmas single and this year is no different. ’When it Rains on Christmas Day’ won’t fill you with that cheery ’Jingle Bells’ Christmas feeling. Quite the opposite, I stay true to my tradition of exploring the darker side of the Holiday.

As usual you can download it for free if you like, or you can pay what you want.

Thank you to everyone involved in recording this song! Also thanks to Kallash& for letting us use their space for the video!

New Single in the wake of everything

NEW SINGLE! Clothe Yourself For the Winter

As a reaction to the recent events in the USA and the political climate world-wide I wrote this song, ’Clothe Yourself for the Winter’, using ’winter’ as a metaphor for the cold, harsh times we seem to be entering.

Now, more than ever, I feel that women have to back each other up, standing up for our rights, especially rights that we have just recently obtained, like the right to decide what is best for our own health. I have a hard time believing men would be ok with women making laws about what they were allowed to do and not do with their own bodies.

On that note I am putting this song out as a free download, but with the hope that you instead of paying me, will make a donation to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood was founded on the revolutionary idea that women should have the information and care they need to live strong, healthy lives and fulfil their dreams — no ceilings, no limits.

A huge thank you to Tim Fleming and David Floer for adding their magic to the song!
