Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
Swedish American newspaper Nordstjernan just published an interview about my tour. Nordstjernan was founded in 1872 and is the oldest Scandinavian publication in the US. They visited me for my shows in NYC, of which the last one is today Thursday June 7th at Ella Lounge 7pm.

I’ve just released a spanking new video for my song The Garden from my new album The Owls Are Not What They Seem. The video is filmed partly at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham by Jonas Westin and the kaleidoscope segments are filmed by Jason Gordon in Florida. I cut and edited the video myself and Jonas did the post production. An HD version will be uploaded at a later date du to bad wifi on the tour…

This Monday we had a wonderful night at the fantastic venue “Södra Teatern” celebrating the release of my new album “Florida”. The place was packed with people and we had a fun gig playing many of the new songs. During the gig we had a little competition where people could win a Sofia Talvik tote if they took a picture and tagged it as me on Facebook. We got so many great pics. Here’s a few of them and we’ll appoint a winner at the end of this week.
