Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
In a few weeks the first single from my upcoming album “Jonestown” will be released. We’re also releasing a video to the single and the preparations are in full progress. The talented designer/tailor Sanna Nyström will design a beautiful dress for me to wear in the video, and today we met up to discuss her thoughts about the design and take some measurements.

So, I’m back in cold, cold Sweden after a short but lovely time in Austin, TX. where I performed in the famecast finals.
The video from the finals will be published on the famecast website on Thursday, and you’ll be able to vote every day for a week after that. If you haven’t registered you’ll have to do that first.

If you’re in Stockholm, don’t miss out on this great festival that is mostly for free. I’m playing at K12, the stage outside Café Opera today at 14.00 for free. Never mind I’ve had an irritationg cough for the past three weeks (yes I will go to the doctor next week) and that my bass player has tonsillitis, we’ll be up there performing for you still! I’ve just had three doses of cough medicin and some vitamin C so if I seem a bit drugged…well then that’s because I am 😉 hehe! See you later today

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone in the audience supporting me on the Hoodsfred festival last week.

Don’t miss the festivals Hoodsfred and Re:publik (both in Stockholm) this upcoming weekend. Friday me and my lovely Tallboys are playing at the big stage at Hoodsfred in Kista at 7.40pm (kl 19.40). We’ll bring you songs from the new(ish) album Street of Dreams and it’s for free so don’t miss it!
Saturday I’ll do a very special gig with Sophie Rimheden as most of of you know as Sweden’s own electronica princess! We’ll be doing a very clubby, discoey kind of performance for all of you who want to dance and party.
