Interview me and win wristbands to SXSW

Hey guys!

I have two exciting things to announce! I’m playing at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX in March and here’s two ways you’ll be able to join me there! Firstly I’m going to be a part of “Discover Me @ Austin” which is a video interview made by Twenty.Me.

The Twenty.Me app is free from the iTunes store but is currently in BETA. Fans will be able to learn more about bands playing at SXSW by typing in the band name, in my case; SofiaTalvik@. There you can listen to my music and learn about the me, as well as get my SXSW schedule. The interview will be made on February 21st at 1pm CST on the Spreecast site.

Spreecast is a social video platform that lets people broadcast together and create shared experiences. In a Spreecast social video stream, up to four people at a time can interact face-to-face on screen, while hundreds of others can watch, chat, and participate by submitting comments and questions. The creator of a spreecast uses producer controls to determine who comes on camera and when. That means that if you want to come online and ask me questions for the interview you can create your own account and do that at Spreecast. You can join with your own spreecast or simply submit questions. The great thing is that it’s early enough for the US so that all you Europeans can join too. The local time in Sweden will be 8 in the evening.

So the second way you can join me at SXSW is actually by getting a free wristband. And here’s how you do that:

“TOANWTS” is out TODAY!

Today I’m releasing my 5th album “The Owls Are Not What They Seem”. Thank you everyone who pre-ordered the CD and to all my fans who pledged for the four EPs in L.O.V.E that preceded this album. (To make it clear for those of you who haven’t heard the EPs – this is a totally different production.)

I’m shipping all of the pre-ordered signed albums today. You who have pre-ordered will also get your download codes today. Shoot me with your Winter Canon

My annual Xmas single is released and I’ve already gotten some great response to it. It’s funny though how my little pun with the cover and the title seemed to pass people by 🙂 The song is written in a manner that is called “canon” in musical terms. Wiki explains the canon like this: In music, a canon is a contrapuntal composition that employs a melody with one or more imitations of the melody played after a given duration (e.g., quarter rest, one measure, etc.).

But as it sounds just like cannon, I put a little cannon shooting snowflakes on the cover.

Sofia returns to her Indie folk pop roots on a very pretty down-tempo number with beautiful imagery of the season. It’s entitled “Winter Canon”, which is a cute title but doesn’t really express how lovely the song actually is. About the only thing wrong with this single is that Sofia didn’t include her picture on the cover art.

She’s definitely one of the finest Swedish singer-songwriter, and there are doubtlessly many good ones. This year’s song is called Winter Canon and it matches the expectations easily. Her soft, bright voice makes this tune really special.

“Winter Canon” has a very old-fashioned American Christmas feel to it….I recommend giving it a listen, downloading it and going out of your way to do something for someone else.

Infoffical tour start

Today I started my Drivin’ & Dreaming tour in an unofficial manner by visiting Rollin’s College’s campus radio station WPRK 91.5. I hung out with Roxanne and played some tunes in the studio. Here’s a pic from my little morning sneak tour start.

E – Part Four of H.A.T.E released today!

Today is the day when the L.O.V.E & H.A.T.E saga has reached it’s end as “E – Part Four of H.A.T.E” is released. I’m extra happy to see that the last metal band in this project has a female singer, and that it doesn’t make it one bit less hard rock than the other EPs.

Thank you to all who have participated in the project through pledging, and to all the great metal bands who worked hard to make my songs their own. I’m blown away by they wonderful job they’ve done and I can’t wait to hear more from all of them!
