Sofia Talvik’s Xmas Calendar: #15

Annika Lantz is one of Sweden’s most beloved and well known radio show hosts. She’s got her own show in both national radio p4 and p1 so when I heard that she was dying to get on my Xmas Calendar as well I simply had to invite her. Somehow it’s really she who invited me, as today’s episode is being filmed in her radio studio, but I’m doing my best to take over the role as host and find out why Annika writes such gloomy haiku poems …

Sofia Talvik’s Xmas Calendar: #11

jul på techno

I’m proud to say that me and Sophie Rimheden is somewhat of a power duo. We wrote our first Christmas song together, a disco dance hit called “Xmas on the Dancefloor” and Sophie has made several remixes of my songs. She’s known as Sweden’s electronica Princess and she’s just released a new Christmas single that she’s sharing with you in today’s episode of Sofia Talvik’s Xmas Calendar! You can download Sophie Rimheden’s Christmas single, called “Xmas time” and is part of the compilation “Jul på Techno” here.

If you’re in Stockholm you can also swing by the release party for “Jul på Techno” today at Debaser Medis, Coctailbaren 7-9 pm.

New album 2009: Blog #7

Yet a day in the closet recording a new song. Each time I go in there I’m stunned over by how long it actually takes to do all the takes, chorus vocals and everything. I spend at least half a day just recording vocals and editing them. As you’ve already seen my tiny closet studio this is just a blog and no vlog, but maybe I should call it a mlog because here’s a sample of today’s song for you. It’s called “You plate your heart with gold” and I was inspired to write it after I heard Mason Jenning’s song “Which way your heart will go” and actually thought he sang “you plate your heart with gold”. It’s a song about people posing to be better than they are. They keep hurting others but pretend they have a heart of gold.

This preview is unmixed and a work in progress and will probably sound a lot different on the album when released.
