Sofia Talvik – Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots
Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
Today I’m supporting myself by wearing one of the nice Sofia Talvik tanks that are available in my shop. It’s quite a nice day in Stockholm today so I’m wearing it with a high waisted jeans and tulle skirt from one of my favourite brands – Forever21 and a jacket from silence + noice, bought at Urban Outfitters. As you can see I’m also sporting the white Sofia Talvik iPhone skin.

I've had a busy week listening to various adds to the album, we've finished strings and piano and it's time for a little sample again.
Erik Jansson has been more than creative arranging some beautiful string orchestras for a couple of the songs. Erik also works with Jay Jay Johanson and has been a part of Jay Jay's set for many years now. And Jozsef has added a finishing touch to his amazing piano. It has all come together.
Here's a beautiful sample of their work conjoined. Never mind the irritating buzzing noice that my computer added when I bounced the song to mp3. I promise it won't be there on the album 😉
Just spent the evening making drum tracks!
I suck at playing to click track so I need more life like drums, hence the drum tracks. (For you who don´t know what a click track is, it´s a beat that makes an awful plopping noice to keep people play the same beat all through the song, and don´t play slow at first and faster in the end. It makes me stressed out and makes me play off beat though I normally keep a rather steady beat.)
Well anyway, Toontrack has made a fab program (promoting promoting!) called EZ-drummer which makes it EZ for dummys like me to make a nice sounding drum track. You can make fills and all sorts of stuff but I just make a straight beat and leave the rest to Fredrik – the drum master.
This is the only pic I could find of Fredrik, he looks really evil here but he´s really very sweet and he´s married to one of my dearest friends, Anna.
