Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
It’s been such and adventure being on the Drivin’ & Dreaming tour. We’ve been to 37 states, played over 250 shows and have met so many wonderful people. But it’s time for Europe to get some Sofia Talvik too and this spring the Drivin’ & Dreaming tour will be moving across the pond to the old country.
I have one more Florida show before we leave so don’t miss out on getting tickets, as seating is limited. It will be a night of music and stories from the road at the Civic Media Center in Gainesville, presented by Shake Rag Cultural Center, on March 1st 8pm. Tickets are only $10 and you can get yours HERE! I’ll see you there!
It’s always nice to come to Florida even though there’s recenty been a cold front here and I was hoping for warmer weather after chilly Arizona and New Mexico. So I’ve got a few shows around FL in February and I’m also stopping by a few radio shows. The other day I was on “Florida Folk” at WMNF 88.5 in Tampa and if you missed it you can listen here (I’m on about 30 minutes into the show)
Today I woke up early to be on WHOA 100 in Sarasota and tonight I’m stopping by WSLR’s “New and Blue Session” where I’m also going to play a few songs live.
I’m doing a couple of shows around FL and I hope to see you there:
02/08 Sarasota: WSLR concert at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center 7:30 (w/ Richard Smith) 02/09 Northport: Café Evergreen 5:30pm 02/10 Bonita Springs: Flamingo Island Flea Market 2pm 02/13 Miami Beach: Van Dyke Café 10pm 03/01 Gainesville: Civic Media Center 8pm
I played Elvis old hang-out in Ocean Springs last night and here’s two interviews with me in the local newspapers. Unfortunately neither Ocean Springs Gazette nor Ocean Springs Record have a very reliable online presence so I’ve tried to post pictures big enough to read if you click them. Thanks to all who came out to see my show at the Julep Room!

I’m doing my first New Mexico gig tonight in Las Cruces at the High Desert Brewing Company at 8pm. Here’s an article in Pulse, the weekend edition of Silver City Sun News. You can read the whole interview here! I’m also playing at Peco’s Winery tomorrow 01/18 with fellow Swedes Secret Circus! Don’t miss!
I’m spending a few days in Phoenix, AZ doing two gigs here. One is tonight January 10th at The Lost Leaf and the second is on Saturday at Obscura (Rips).
The Useless Critic, one of my fave blogs just published an exclusive interview with me about the tour, Arizona and life in general and later today at 6pm I’ll make an appearance on KWSS 106.7 on the show “Driving with Gass“, so tune in to listen here!
