On tour!

I’ve just arrived in Hawaii to do my first gigs! The weather here is awesome and as the sun thirsting Swede I am I have already got a little sunburnt. It’s been almost 7 months since I saw any sun so who can blame me.

I’m really looking forward to all the gigs that we have lined up, a little sad that we’ll only be in San Francisco one day as that is one of my favorite cities and there’s so much there that I’d love to show the guys in the band. I’m thinking I have to at least take them down for a clam chowder at the Warf.

I’m also really looking forward to coming to San Diego (buy tickets here!) where I’ll be playing at Acoustic Music San Diego. When my latest album “Jonestown” was released in the US last year I was interviewed by “The Jonestown Report” which has its officie in San Diego. After the interview was published a former member and survivor of People’s Temple and the Jonestown tragedy contacted me personally, which you can imagine was quite overwhelming but also one of the sweetest and most heartfelt feedbacks I’ve ever had to my music. You can read the interview here.

Here’s a few photos from the tour so far!

Tired, but happy to arrive in Hawaii after a 22 hour flight!

Pretty view from my hotel room window! (don’t you just love the Histamatic app for the iPhone)

Jocke is thinking of buying a Ukelele!

Guest artist Jonna Lee

Worldwide release!

In the end of October 2009 I’m releasing my third album “Jonestown” in the USA and later on in Japan. To give you a preview of the songs from the album I have gathered 12 of my favorite Swedish artists who will each perform one song from the album live with me on tape. Every week a new video is released, with a new song and a new guest artist.

First you’ll meet Jonna Lee, and be sure to stay tuned to see who comes next.

(ps. the album is not a duet album, the videos are exclusive versions of the songs ds.)
Sofia Talvik / Jonna Lee – Diamonds

Song: Diamonds
Album: Jonestown
Guest artist: Jonna Lee

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Jonna Lee:

* She made a whole electro album last year, but changed her mind in time for release because it didn’t feel right.
* After that, she wrote, recorded, and produced “10 pieces, 10 bruises” under 2007 (with Claes Björklund)
* She wrote the song “And your love” with Ed Harcourt in mind, sent him the song and then recorded it as a duet a few weeks later.

I’m a lineman…

Everytime I need to do something, like recordings for a new album or something. I get this urge to do something else, something that I don’t need to do. That’s how I started doing the Christmas singles and all the other stuff that I do, just me, just by myself. So I guess it was no surprise that instead of going through the recorded files last week, I picked up the guitar and learned the old classic “Wichita Lineman”. Years back I had a brief collaboration with Swedish artist Niclas Frisk (Atomic Swing, A Camp). He was the one who first played me this song and I still love it. So thank you Niclas! And here’s how it turned out sounding in my kitchen…
