Guten Tag!

I need to learn some more German now that I am beginning to tour here in Germany. I just wanted to give you some info about my plans for the fall!

I’m doing a bunch of shows around my new home town Berlin and will then branch out to entertain people in Cologne, Stuttgart and several other places around this beautiful country. As fall is coming and it’s getting colder I need your warm love and support, so please bring 10 of your best friends and come to my shows!

You can find all my shows here: GIG CALENDAR.

And I’m constantly updating it, adding more shows, so check in regularly to see when I’ll be in your town!

First we took Manhattan. Now we take Berlin!

Aaaah! I’m back after a nice relaxing vacation and ready to get on the horse that is gigging again!

I’ve just moved to Berlin, Germany, and will be touring in Europe for a while now. (Don’t worry, I’ll be back in the US before you know it)

I’ve got two shows in Berlin in June and would love to see all my fellow Berliners there!

The first one is at St. Gaudy Café on June 6th and the second one is at Playing With Eels on June 21st. More info about both shows here!

Don’t forget to sign up on the Facebook events and invite all your friends to make me feel extra welcome in my new home town!

Sofia Talvik’s Xmas Calendar 2012 #20

Sofia Talvik's Xmas Calendar, Window 20

Last year I cooked a Swedish Christmas meal for some of my Florida friends. And my friend Courtney’s brother asked her before the dinner if Swedish meatballs actually exist or if they’re just a myth. I thought that was so funny, so I decided to make y’all some Swedish meatballs in this window of the calendar!

 Watch it here

Now you can all make them at home, and I promise they will taste way better than IKEA’s. 😉 Oh and the catchy tune in the background is my disco Christmas single from two years ago called Santa. It’s a free download that you can get here!

In today’s window I’m making some Swedish Glögg! It’s super easy and you can make it at home!

Here’s what you need for the Glögg:
2 cinnamon sticks
8 cloves
4 Allspice/cardamom seeds
a small piece of sliced fresh ginger
1-2 pieces bitter orange / orange peel
1 bottle of red wine
5 oz brandy
2 table spoons of sugar

You all know that you need a gingerbread house to make Christmas complete. And you also need some kids to help you build it. I decided to let my cello player Christian, who also happens to be an architect and should know a thing or two about building houses, and his daughter Gunnel help me build one. This is a re-run from my 2009 Christmas Calendar, but it was one of my favorite episodes and I think you’re just going to love it! And the best thing is that you can download the template for Christian’s gingerbread house HERE and bake it at home!

Happy baking! http://youtu.be/8kkmRmUpjYI
