‘My James Dean’ in ‘Skills’

My song ‘My James Dean’ from my album ‘Jonestown’ (2008) is being featured in the new Swedish movie ‘Skills‘.

‘Skills’ is about Kelvin, an ordinary 18-year-old with an unusual talent: he is parcour artist. When his father who works as a police officer is shot and end up in a coma, Kelvin sets out to use his exceptional talent to find his father’s enemy. His search leads him not only to stretch his limits as a parcour artist, but he also learns about his own moral boundaries: how far is he willing to go for friendship and family …

‘Skills’ recently found an agent deal with Epic Pictures Group in Hollywood. I’m very happy to have my music featured in this movie! Read more here!

You can download Sophie Rimheden’s Christmas single, called “Xmas time” and is part of the compilation “Jul på Techno” here.

Release me Frida!

Having only two videos left to release, its sort of starting to feel a bit sad it’s coming to an end. But how can one be sad when one hears the exquisite voice of Frida Öhrn from the band Oh Laura?

Oh Laura gained their fame when having one of their wonderful songs “Release me” in a Saab commercial and it’s hard not to be taken by Frida, so naturally I asked her to be a part of my live videos.

About Oh Laura and Frida Öhrn:
Oh Laura, formerly known as Laura, is a Swedish indie pop group from Stockholm. The band’s name comes from one of the heroines of the television series Twin Peaks, Laura Palmer. The group came into existence as a project of 2 friends from school, Jocke and Jorgen. They were both born and raised in Sweden, they’re both very talented musicians and composers. Jocke mainly composes music, Jorgen writes most of the lyrics. They met Frida when Jocke was on the concert with his sister. Frida’s voice made on him such an unusual impression that he immediately proposed her a cooperation. Not much later Frida called her 2 friends, a bassist, Rikard and a drummer, Magnus and that’s how Oh Laura was born! Oh Laura is also known from having one of their wonderful songs “Release me” in a Saab commercial.

Spread the word!

If you’ve signed up as a fan on reverbnation or ticked the box “join the street team” when you signed up on my newsletter, you already know what I’m talking about. Being part of my street team is about spreading the word about my music.

I have a lot of great stuff coming up for Xmas and it’s time for me to gather the street team and make something real out of it. But I can’t do it alone. I need YOUR help! So that’s why I’m looking for a few dedicated officers to take charge of the street team, make their own groups and be a bigger part of all the fun stuff we have planned. Together we can build an army!

So how do you know you’re officer material? Well, first of all you love the music. You can’t wait to tell your new friends about it. You’ve joined basically every competition there has been on sofiatalvik.com and of course you have all the album. In other words, music is you passion and this music in particular! Is this you? Send an email to and write a few words to describe why you think you should become a street team officer.

Let the fun begin!

My golden sex toy!

As a singer I somethings get invited to fun parties, and this week, I attended the Stockholm fashion week party at Café Opera. Mingeling around, sipping bubbles I came across a table filled with fancy sex toys. Two friends of mine who was hanging around the table eyeing the merchandize, told me they’d just competed for a golden butt plug with matching cuff links 🙂 So I thought I’d give it a try too, for the female prize, a “vibrating couture object” as Lelo describes Yva on their website.

Lo and behold, a few days later I got an email which said I had in fact won! It felt simply unreal. I have few possessions worth 10 000 SEK (about $1400) and even fewer of the vibrating couture kind. As I’m writing this post I’m waiting for the delivery, so I can’t give you a review just yet. But do check out Lelo’s website and their designer toys for adults.
