I’m excited to be doing a concert on July 26th at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago. The show starts at 7pm and the tickets are $15 pre-sale (click here to buy now) or $20 at the door. There will be a V.I.P. Reception with a meet and greet with me beginning at 6 pm tickets cost $25 per person for that.

Last time I played at the museum I was on my Lollapalooza tour so I’m very excited to be invited back for a show on my Drivin’ & Dreaming tour. I hope to see you all there!

“A thing of spectral acoustic beauty”

I’m tracking my footprints, or rather tire tracks, back towards the east coast and will be re-visiting a few of my favorite concert venues and exploring a couple of new ones along the way. So it’s extra nice when Connect Savannah gives me this “welcome back” in their latest edition:

Sofia Talvik’s newest collection of songs, The Owls Are Not What They Seem, sounds like it could have been recorded in the early 1970s, when singer/songwriters were prized for their eccentricity, and the striking colors they brought as individuals to commercially-viable acoustic balladry. (…)

On this album, she is clearly in her element. It is a thing of spectral acoustic beauty, and this Monday night performance is highly recommended by us jaded fools here at Connect.

Not driving to Houston today

I was hoping to do a fun post about SXSW today, but instead I’ll have to write to tell you that tonight’s gig at Super Happy Fun Land in Houston is cancelled because our tour bus broke down in Austin today. It’s in the shop now so the rest of the gigs in Houston should be on as scheduled. Guess you’ll have to tip me double or buy more CDs next time so I can afford some food after the mechanic took all my money 😉
