Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
The Jonestown Report is a site sponsored by the Department of religious studies at the San Diego University. Their goal is to document all sorts of stuff about People’s Temple and the Jonestown tragedy in 1978.
As my album is named after this event, The Jonestown Report made an interview with me about my decision to call my album “Jonestown”, and my thoughts about what happened there.

In the end of October 2009 I’m releasing my third album “Jonestown” in the USA and later on in Japan. To give you a preview of the songs from the album I have gathered 12 of my favorite Swedish artists who will each perform one song from the album live with me on tape. Every week a new video is released, with a new song and a new guest artist.
When William called me on his way over to shoot this video, he asked me if he should bring a red clown’s nose. As it turned out he didn’t, but it might have been great fun, and the fact that he thought of this says a lot about him as an artist and performer. You could easily say William isn’t afraid of making anything a show. This is why I’m so happy to announce him as one of this week’s guest artist.
William Crafoord is an old time idol of mine. When I was about 12 William had a Swedish rap band called “Just D“. It’s safe to say I had all their albums and was somewhat obsessed 😉 Anyway, William has come a long way since then and has released several albums, both as part of the group “Just D” and as a solo artist.
Lately William has put together several musical and theatrical shows, with well known artists such as Salem al Fakir as well as with his dog Django (who also participates in this video). Here you’ll see him singing my song “Clown” from my upcoming album “Jonestown” with me. Enjoy!

This week I have the pleasure to present Tom Levin.
Tom’s teenage years took him to Alaska, where he lived as an exchange student. It was here that his vocal talents were first discovered when the host family’s daughter heard him singing in the shower. Urged on by the host family’s belief in his abilities, Tom made his debut as a soloist in the school choir. But when Tom returned to Sweden, he put his music on the back shelf and started studying economics.
In June 2007 Tom’s song “Please disturb me” reach 4 reached 4 on AC/hot AC/New Music Weekly in the USA and it reached 3 on Independent Music Networks Mainstream.
On the 12th of December 2006 Tom Levin’s song “Just” reached 1 on New Music Weekly’s radio charts in the US (specifically the AC/Hot AC Main Chart and AC/Hot AC Indie Chart), and has to date been 1 for four consecutive weeks. “Just” also reached 8 on the Hot 100 Chart / New Music Weekly, and the Top 100 Chart / Friday Morning Quarter Back / ACQB.
Tom’s new album “Unfair in my favor” was released on June 11.

First you’ll meet Jonna Lee, and be sure to stay tuned to see who comes next.
Song: Diamonds
Album: Jonestown
Guest artist: Jonna Lee
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Jonna Lee:
* She made a whole electro album last year, but changed her mind in time for release because it didn’t feel right.
* After that, she wrote, recorded, and produced “10 pieces, 10 bruises” under 2007 (with Claes Björklund)
* She wrote the song “And your love” with Ed Harcourt in mind, sent him the song and then recorded it as a duet a few weeks later.
