Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
I guess you’ve all figured out by now that this Christmas Calendar is all about Christmas and music. My album Jonestown is being released in the US on Tuesday! So it’s just a day from now! Hurrah! Check it out on iTunes tomorrow.
I don’t buy music that often, especially not now that I have spotify. But I actually bought an album today, and it was bloody hard to find it. You see I saw the movie “Ghost town” a while ago and heard a song I really liked. It turned out to be Mason Jennings “Which way your heart will go” from the album “Boneclouds”. I tried his website and I tried iTunes. I’m not a fan of Amazon as nothing ever seems to be delivered when I order from them so finally through Last.fm I found a digital download site who distributed this album. It actually inspired me to write a song as I didn’t quite catch the lyrics at first and thought he sang something else which I later used in my song 🙂
I also want to share this beautiful video with you, and the music isn’t half bad either. When I find the album I just might buy it too…

This year’s Christmas single is dedicated to all those people who need a helping hand, whether it is the lonely teenager or the homeless man on the street. This single is a free download, but I urge you to use the money you would have spent on it on iTunes to help someone less fortunate. My donation is to Stadsmissionen who helps homeless people in Sweden. If you give a gift to them by text message you will receive this Christmas single as a cellphone signal. Use it and let your friends know that you care for those who need it.
