Unmistakably Nordic in flavor, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy, creating a special niche of folk music.
Reviews of Sofia Talvik from media, magazines and blogs
Folk Music Brazil is a project that was created with the goal of uniting people who appreciate this genre and spread the folk scene throughout Brazil, offering national folk artists a channel to promote their work and interact with a potential audience, and to give fans of folk a meetingpoint to interact, go to shows and swap recommendations of artists. Folk Music Brazil just did an interview with me on their site and you can read it HERE (in Portuguese). I’ve never been to Brazil but it would be wonderful to go there for a tour some day!
Nürnberger Nachrichten were kind enough to post this article about my show in Untertrubach at The Studio Lounge. Thank you all who came out to see the show! Fuldauer Nachrichten also wrote about my show in Gruben, so thank you all who came out to see me despite the cold weather.
“All too quickly, this little gem comes to an end. FOLK is as short as it is blissful. It gracefully bows to tradition. Sofia Talvik captures the soul and feeling of these folk songs spot on. The Swede is one of those singer-songwriters who turns everything she touches into gold.”
Lie in the sound has written this great review for my EP “FOLK”. It’s in German, but check it out here!
